Part of a well-loved brand name in community pharmacy. The Company is a family-owned organisation which was established in 1980 and is now one of Britain’s leading pharmacy chains. I

Ideally looking for someone who can fulfil 40 hours per week; the exact work pattern will be discussed at interview.  Although my client is looking for a full-time role, they are flexible in their approach to recruitment and for the right candidate they may consider part time roles and/or an amended shift patterns to suit your needs and the business needs.

The branch opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with a one-hour lunch closure between 1pm and 2pm

Ideally looking for an applicant to join the family, who is commercially astute and planful, ensuring that customers remain their primary focus receiving outstanding care at all times. You will be working with a team who will play a vital part in your success and that of the ranch. This ultimately means you will provide a hands-on approach to meeting their learning and development needs whilst providing support and guidance as required. 

Specific Skills
  • Registered Pharmacist (GPhC) — Must be a registered pharmacist with the UK General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Pharmacy Operations Expertise — Strong understanding of safe dispensing, regulatory compliance, stock management, and healthcare standards.
  • Clinical Knowledge — Ability to counsel patients on medication use, effects and safety.
  • Team Leadership — Ability to lead, support and develop the pharmacy team, including coaching staff and managing performance.
  • Training & Development — Provide guidance to staff and help with their learning, induction, and performance improvement.
  • Excellent Communication — Strong verbal and written communication with customers, healthcare professionals, and your team.
  • Digital & Computer Literacy — Comfortable with pharmacy systems and digital records.
  • Interpersonal Skills — Confidence in building relationships with patients, colleagues, GP practices and other external partners.
  • Organisation & Time Management — Prioritise tasks, manage workload, and keep the pharmacy running smoothly.
  • Attention to Detail — Accuracy in dispensing, record keeping and compliance with legal standards.
  • Problem Solving — Quickly and safely resolve issues (e.g., stock shortages, customer queries).
  • Hands-on Management — Comfortable managing day-to-day pharmacy operations and workflows.
  • Customer Focus — Commitment to high-quality patient care, delivering friendly, efficient and professional service.
  • Commercially Astute — Understand business needs, help achieve service and operational goals, and support company initiatives.
Responsible For
  • Take overall responsibility as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring full compliance with GPhC regulations and private pharmacy legislation.
  • Ensure safe, accurate dispensing of private prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines.
  • Provide professional medication advice and consultations to private patients and customers.
  • Manage and grow private pharmacy services (e.g. travel health, vaccinations, health screenings, private consultations).
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, focusing on patient experience, confidentiality, and trust.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the pharmacy team, ensuring high standards of professionalism.
  • Conduct staff training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee pharmacy operations, workflow efficiency, opening/closing procedures, and rota management.
  • Manage stock control, procurement, pricing, expiry management, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure correct handling, storage, and record-keeping of controlled drugs and private registers.
  • Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and private governance standards.
  • Monitor financial performance, margins, and cost control within the pharmacy.
  • Drive sales, service uptake, and business growth through promotions and customer engagement.
  • Handle complaints, incidents, and risk management in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, private prescription records, and pharmacy systems.

Salary
£26 – £30 per hour (depending on experience)
